Hoang Oanh Sandwich in Montreal

Tastes like the ones found in Vietnam, with cold meat, untoasted bread (you have to specifically request the bread to be toasted), stingy dressing, and overall lack of flavour. I'm not a fan of the original banh mi in Vietnam, and very rare have I had Vietnamese subs in Canada that does not demolish the banh mi in actual Vietnam in every category. This place serves Vietnamese subs that are authentic and inferior to their improved Canadian versions.

It's one of the best but they could do a better jog labelling the sandwiches on the board. I also wish it looked cleaner. The place does not look clean like most places in Chinatown. I never understood this. Cleanliness is appetizing to me. Please clean up for sanitary reasons and have some pride.

I really enjoy the sandwiches here! They are made fresh in front of you and the prices are great! For $4-5, you can enjoy a delicious, authentic banh mi! This location also offers desserts and other entrees like banh cuon to satisfy anybody’s cravings. Keep in mind the location is CASH ONLY and they do not have a dining area, but I believe this only adds to the authenticity of the venue. Take your sandwich outside, sit on a bench, and enjoy the day and your meal. Afterwards, give this place a 5-star rating like I did instead of that ridiculous reviewer below me who gave a 1-star for the same reasons... Highly recommended.

Yum! Quick service, great banh mi. Good variety of meat toppings. Affordable price and there are also other Vietnamese desserts and quick bites to choose from too like rice paper/spring/egg rolls.

Great value banh mi that's conveniently located. Perfect for a bite on the go or packed for later.There's no frills and expect the banh mi to be authentic - that is lightly packed with filling.So I recommend to get the special to get more meats and ask for more pickles and chillies to your liking. Oh and go early to get fresh crisper bread!

(unless you go to the other store of course, both are consistently amazing) The owners are wonderful people (Hank you're the man!). Exceptional service and an even more exceptional taste. decent banh mi joint in chinatown. nothing to write home about. i went a lot back in school because it was convenient. i still sometimes go when i'm in chinatown and in a mood for some banh mi.it does the job but it's not the oh my god, must go out of my way for it. the buy 10 and get 1 free card is enticing but really, great banh mi doesn't need gimmick

Without a doubt the best place in Montreal to get a Bahn Mi. Also try their Ca Phe Sua Da. The ladies working here are always welcoming and kind.

Pretty decent chicken banh mi sandwiches. They don't wear gloves when preparing them which always bothers me but they taste good so I risk the food poisoning. Protip: if you ask for the sandwich to be spicy, ask for just a little because even that is quite spicy.

Missing the mark on a number of points. Wrong bread.

Was here and wasn't too impressed. They gave me premade banh mi and didn't toast it. This is great if you're here to buy in bulk and take home but not so much if you want to eat right away. The banh mi itself was okay, I wish there was more filling in the sandwich.
